The Golf PROjx Story

theGolfPROjx’s foundation is a love of golf, and a drive to create a more enlightened way of practising.

When the UK went into lockdown 1.0 in March 2020 – the start of the golf season, I invested in a Trackman hoping to use lockdown for productive practice. Previously, practice typically meant hitting hundreds of balls obsessively focusing on perfecting my technique, chasing the perfect form.

With Trackman, I was able to measure my performance during skills based tests, recreating a competitive environment. The real results were shown when professional golf did briefly re-open; I had three competitive wins.

This powerful bit of kit was truly transformative. The more golfers – both professional and amateur – I spoke to, the more it became obvious that there was an appetite for a more flexible but measurable approach to practice. My friend Iain Highfield calls it ‘game-like training’.

So, I set out to find a way to make the most of Trackman – and to open up its capabilities to my fellow professionals and passionate amateur golfers. To open up meaningful golf practice to more people, and to create a community along the way.

With the help of some golf enthusiast investors, a warehouse in Warrington has become theGolfPROjx, a state-of-the-art indoor golf facility. Members will have access to everything they need to make the most of the tech – expert PGA coaching, game analysis, even a sports psychologist. Now our project is to take it from a ‘facility’ to a members’ club.

We can’t wait to welcome you to theGolfPROjx.
